Welcome to the Bombed Out Church Garden Bar & Café, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Liverpool. Located on Leece Street, this unique café is not just a place to grab a drink or a bite; it's a captivating experience steeped in history and community spirit.

Originally St. Luke’s Church, which was bombed during World War II, the venue has been transformed into an enchanting garden bar and café. For a modest donation of just £2 to enter, you step into a haven where the remnants of stained glass still whisper stories of the past amidst the lush greenery and vibrant atmosphere. With so much history, every corner of the café invites you to pause and reflect.

Visitors rave about the stunning setting. “Really good experience,” shares Colin Hodkin, who highlights the tiny traces of stained glass that survived. The garden bar is accentuated by plenty of seating areas, perfect for lounging with friends on sunny days or enjoying the buzz of evening events. “The atmosphere here is great,” mentions D A, while also appreciating the super friendly staff who make you feel like part of the community.

The café is particularly lively during special events, such as the beloved beer festival that receives glowing reviews. Rob Kane recalls, “Always a good night at the beer festival especially when you are in good company, food was excellent from the curryden.” It’s this blend of great food and lively atmosphere that makes the Bombed Out Church an ideal spot for both locals and tourists alike.

Grab your friends and stop by if you’re wandering through the city center—like Gabriela Luz, who stumbled upon the café and found it to be a well-maintained piece of Liverpool’s history. With its beautiful surroundings and the rich storytelling embedded in its walls, it's not just a café; it’s a destination.

If you’re looking for a place that beautifully marries nostalgia with modern café culture, the Bombed Out Church Garden Bar & Café awaits. Come for the ambiance, stay for the company, and leave with unforgettable memories.

My and my friends were passing by and decided to check the church out. It is a nice piece of history inside Liverpool and very well maintained. The entry is free but you can donate to help the church.
